James Yapp was killed in action on November 27, 1917, aged 22 years and is commemorated on The Cambrai Memorial in France. Hewas the Son of James and Sarah Yapp, 44 Stable Row, Lightmoor, Dawley, Shropshire and had enlisted into The KSLI Territorials (4th Bn.) in June 1913, aged 17 years 10 months and had been discharged as unfit for duty in October 1914, only to immediately re-enlist into the Guards.
