Charles

Ann, Hannah and William would like to thank all the Friends, Family and Acquaintances of Charles and his Family who have sent cards, letters, emails and flowers, said prayers and attended the Funeral on July 22 at Parc Gwyn. It was an uplifting Service, conducted beautifully by Father Marcus Zipperlen.

The Eulogy was written and delivered by Andrew, Charles' older Brother, with significant contributions from Hannah and William and it recognised some of the diverse achievements which had marked the 66 years of Charles' life, while giving us all a chance to reflect and smile.

The Mencap Haverfordwest charity was selected by the Family to be the sole beneficiary of donations at the Service. Charles' Parents, Jim and Cynthia Grey, their Children and extended Families actively supported the creation and development of the Mencap service to the Families of Pembrokeshire in the 50s and 60s through to the creation of the Stackpole Garden. 'Miriam's Chair' now stands magnificentlyin the Stackpole Garden as a fitting memorial to Charles' youngest Sister.

The Family would like to thank everyone for their generous donations, which as of the August 1 have totalled œ2,660.

Our thanks go to Roy Folland & Son for repatriating Charlesto Wales and displaying great compassion and care to Charles and his Family. The numerous and varied services of NHS in Shropshire and Staffordshire have our eternal thanks for providing such an amazing service. The peaceful surroundings of the Severn Hospice at Apley Castle was where Charles finally passed away and we thank all the Staff for their kindness, openness and generosity of spirit.

Thanks also to the Owners and Staff of the St Brides for the delicious buffet and their consummate professionalism at such a difficult time for them, as well.

Last but by no means least, a heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at The St Brides Inn in Little Haven for a sunny afternoon enjoying the company, the land and seascape, the beer, the humour and the food - just as Charles would have wished.
