HENDERSON Jane Margaret Henderson, age 80, entered into rest, peacefully, on April 3, 2019, surrounded by loving family. Jean, as she was affectionately known, was born on February 19, 1939, to Hugh and Mary Weir on Glengorm Estate, Isle of Mull. Upon leaving school, Jean worked as a short hand typist for various companies and government agencies. At 16 years old, Jean met Tom Henderson. They were married five years later, September 3, 1960. Jean will be remembered for her genuine love of family. She was selfless, optimistic, hard working and curious. Jean never backed down from a new challenge. She took great pride in her garden, providing her with many hours of pleasure. She loved dancing and music, especially Jimmy Shand. A truly special person, Jean and Tom built a lifelong community of several close friends. Jean and Tom made their life in several parts of Scotland, finally settling in Dysart for the last 37 years of her life. Jean is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Tom; sons Stuart and Gordon; daughters Lorna, Sheena and Mhairi; and nine grandchildren Lucie, Natalie, Cameron, Emily, Ailee, Callum, Archie, Lettie and Hamish. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Uisdean. A funeral will be held, on Wednesday, April 17, 2019, at 11.45 a.m., at Kirkcaldy Crematorium, with a celebration to follow at Kirkcaldy Golf Club.
