The Good Old Days

We kids used the play "Please may we cross the Golden waters" on the Avenue. always a lot of fun. But the highlight was always riding up the Avenue on the running boards of Fred's old black sedan when he came home from work. Great memories. Always a kid at heart himself. You will always have a special place in my memories. Thanks Fred. God Bless. Godfrey - in Canada at glewis1@telusplanet.net

Fred loved his Football

Fred frequently spent his time with the local lads on the football field. He spent many hours crossing the ball from the right wing for us kids to head in. Very fond memories of trying to get that ball past Paul Adams - and that was never an easy task. Fred, Mac Hanson and den Buckley were also very fond of their Wolves in the day and very generous with sharing their experience. Going to the Wolves games with them and up to Leeds to watch Shrewsbury Town in the FA Cup will always remain very fond memories. God Bless Fred. We will miss you. Godfrey.

I remember playing cricket and football with Fred and Barry on the front lawn growing up. It was a special treat and always something to look forward to. Fred leaves us with fond memories of a very special gift. His time.
