Joan

On October 31, 2013, of Erwallo Ucha Pontfadog, aged 93 years.

She had lived in the Glyn Valley for nearly 50 years until she suffered a stroke, aged 84 years.

Joan served in the Manchester and Liverpool Police during World War II,where she met and married Emmett Roberts, a Police Detective.

They moved to the Ceiriog Valley in 1959. During her time there Joan, a gregarious personality, was a Community Councillor, Secretary and President of the local W.I., member of the Wrexham Police Consultative Committee and the Gobowen Orthopaedic League of Friends.

A strong and defiant character to the last, she lived for nine years following a severe stroke, determined not to leave until there really was no alternative.

She will bemissed by Friends, two Sons and three Daughters, their Partners, ten Grandchildren and eight Great-Grandchildren.

The Funeral will take place on November 13, 2013, at 10.45am, at St John's Church, Pontfadog, followed at 12 noon by a short Service at Pentrebychan Crematorium, Wrexham and then a reception at the Last Inn, Hengoed, for 1pm.
