CLARKE

Dreda

It is with great sadness that Anna Dreda and her Daughters Meg Skan and Beth Brooker announce that Dreda Clarke died peacefully at home on September 13, after a difficult illness.

Dreda moved to Bridgnorth in 2009, to be near Anna and the Family, a brave move given that she had lived in Loughborough for 60 years, a move she undertook with courage, optimism and fortitude. She soon created a beautiful new home and garden where she was blessed with kind and loving Neighbours who introduced her to a whole new social life that, with her marvellous aptitude for Friendship, she thoroughly enjoyed.

Dreda loved being involved in the social life of Wenlock Books, enjoying trips to Venice, being part of reading retreats in Walesand Scotland, attending several of the Wenlock Poetry Festivals and being a much loved regular at Poetry Breakfasts and reading groups. She also enjoyed theatre trips, outings to gardens and restaurants and many lovely holidays.

Dreda led a happy, fulfilled and active life, in spite of ongoing heart problems, until illness caused her to be largely house-bound for the last year of her life, where she was supported and cared for by her Daughter and Granddaughters, Friends from St. John's Church andher dear Neighbours.

Dreda will be sorely missed by all her Family and her many Friends around the world.
