It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of the Rev Ernest Osman. He officiated at our wedding on the 14th August 1965 - 50 years ago - when he was curate at Christ Church in Bolton. It was the first wedding he had conducted and he was as nervous as us! As we knelt at the alter steps he bent his head towards us and whispered "So far, so good"!
We were in contact with him on our 40th wedding anniversary when he sent us a lovely message of congratulations.
We will always remember him with affection. He started us on the path of a strong and happy 50 years of marriage and we only wish he was still with us so that we could thank him in person.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.
