Peacefully in hospital on March 14, 2015, after a short illness, aged 94 years, of Hopton, Hodnet.

Beloved Husband of the late Heather. Father of Nicholas and the late Phillipa.

Funeral Service, 2.30pm, on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Shrewsbury Crematorium.

Family flowers only but donations if so desired, for The Dogs Trust, for which purpose a collection box will be provided at the Crematorium.

Dear doc , there's not a day goes by that I don't miss you , you were such an inspiration to me and I still can't believe you aren't about any more for me to ring or call upon for some wise advice - whether it be with your doctors hat on - or with your vets hat on!! I look at your photo each day and thank my lucky stars I knew you . Rest in peace , one of the very best xxxx

rest in peace a kind and humourous gentleman and always made me feel welcome . a cup of tea and shortbread biscuit insisted to sit to drink it before it got cold. ill miss him but have fond memories of such a lovely gent. a loss felt by many and i have to remember he called me rosebud . sleeptite dr.gilbert loved and missed by all who met and knew you xxxxxx

a loss that will last forever of such a gentleman whom i had the pleasure of working for . i always had a soft spot for him and he nicknamed me his rosebud. he always pottered about and smiled each time i went to clean his home,his sense of humour too bless him and always making me a cup of tea and telling me to sit and drink it before it went cold and shortbread biscuits which he knew were my favourites. ill never forget him as it was my regular monday clean . rest noe dr gilbert missed and loved by all who met you sleeptite xxxxxxxx caroline xxxx
