The Funeral has taken place of Gladys Emily Randall, of Caynton House, Caynton, Newport, Shropshire, who died, aged 88 years, peacefully at home, after a long illness bravely borne.

The Service at Telford Crematorium was conducted by the Reverend Prebendary Edward Ward, who gave the Eulogy.

The collection is to be divided equally between St.Peter's Church, Edgmond and The Admiral Nurses.

Gladys was born in Birmingham on February 20, 1922, shemoved to Alcester, Warwickshire, during the war and looked after her younger Sister Jacqueline and Neighbour's Daughter Pat. While living in Alcester, she met her future Husband Frank. After they married in 1946, she made homes for them and their Children, Anne, John and Mary, all over the British Isles, wherever Frank's work as a Chartered Engineer took them (a total of 17 moves all together). In 1975, she very proudly accompanied Frank to Buckingham Palace, when the Queen presented him with theM.B.E. for Services to Industry.

When the Family moved to Newport, Frank became a Member of the Newport Bowling Club, Gladys enjoyed bowling and was one of the founder members of the Ladies Bowling Club.

Gladys enjoyed gardening and won several prizes, including the Shropshire Star Best Garden under the third of an acre, while living in Marchamley.

Gladys had six Grandchildren, Neil, Mark, Emily, Laura, Jayne and Megan and seven Great-Grandchildren, Ruby, Florence, Aidan, Ethan, Lucas, Lydia and Frank.

Family Mourners were Anne Furniss and Mary Teixiera (Daughters), Mary was representing Jayne and Megan, Granddaughters from Texas, John Randall (Son) and his Wife Linda, Neil and Mark Furniss (Grandsons), Zoe (Neil's Wife, representing Joanne,Mark's Wife), Jacqueline Pick (Sister), Michael Pick (Brother-in-law), Albert Randall (Brother-in-law), Barbara Randall (Sister-in-law), Emily and Laura Randall (Granddaughters).

Theresa Rouse, Stephen Edwards, Caroline and Andrew Green (representing Craig), Alison and John Roberts, Christine and Colin White, Helen and Martin Daffern, Julie Hicken (Nieces and Husbands and Partners) Margaret Wilks (Sister-in-law).

Other mourners included Mrs Barbara Furniss (representing Mrs Phyllis Edwards), Peter, Ruth and Robert Furniss (representing Paul and Sarah Furniss), John and Bridget Reece (representing Mrs Freda Jones and Mr and Mrs David Matthews), Mr Geoff Williams (representing Jacqui Williams and Audley Masonic Lodge, Bill and Meg Jones, Frank and JoanClough), Mr and Mrs Ken Broad (representing Mr and Mrs Richard Baskerville, Mrs Rhonda Huxley, Mr and Mrs Peter Williams), Mr and Mrs Gordon and Helen Maddocks, Mr and Mrs Harry Parton, Mr and Mrs David Williams, Mrs Eira Heath (representing the Heath Family and Mr and Mrs John Horton), Mrs Olivia Wilcox (representing Stuart Wilcox), Mrs Margo Walker (representing Mr John Walker), Mrs V Edwards (representing Mr David Williams and Mrs Mary Butter), Tracy Carvell (representing Leanne Carvell-Shepherd), Mrand Mrs G B Carvell, Mr Russell Jones, Mr R O Stokes, Brian and Jill Maddocks, Maria and Mike Cooke, Mr and Mrs R A Jefferson, Mr John Parkes, Elliot Aston and Faye Allard, Alan and Mair Griffiths, Richard Aston, Mrs R Charnock (nee Toms) (representing the Families Lucas, Hartles, Bulford and Perry, ex. Audco, Karen Bradley, Jenny Cooke, Kerrie Gilmore and Allyson Clay represented all the wonderful Carers who helped look after Gladys in her final years and enabled her to be at home with her Family when she passed away. Thanks go also to Admiral Nurse Tracy Lee, for all her advice and support and to all at Wellington Road Surgery and Dispensary for their patience, also to Mair Griffiths and Maria Cooke for all their help.
