Memories of Aunty Ceinwen

Ceinwen first came into my life more than fifty years ago as a young teacher newly arrived in Crew Green. Looking for somewhere to stay she lodged us, met Uncle Dai, they married and lived in a caravan in our orchard until they moved to Baschurch. Ceinwen and Dai led an active life, sailing, skiing, cycling and dancing amongst other activities, which left the rest of us breathless just thinking about what they achieved.
My favourite memory of Ceinwen was at Anna's wedding in 2000, where she and Dai danced the youngsters off the dancefloor. At the end of the evening Ceinwen said "I've had a great time", which was typical of the person she was.
She never had any children of her own but she loved teaching and considered the many youngsters who went through her hands as family.
She will be sadly missed by her many friends and her family.
Love from Joyce
