We provide a useful and practical information service to help you when a death occurs among your family or friends.

How do I place an announcement in the paper?

Please go to the Book a notice page, where you will find the newspaper you are interested in. Select the title and you will be taken to their website.

I would like to be the editor of a notice, but I do not have a Unique Reference Number (URN).

We can only make the person who booked the original notice the editor of the notice. If you did book the original notice and either have lost or were never given the Unique Reference Number (URN) you need to activate a notice, please get in touch with the newspaper you booked the notice with and they will resupply you with your URN.

Search Tips

Type the name of the person you are looking for into the keywords field on the home page, and press Search.

If too many notices appear, you can:

• add more words to make the search more specific
• select a notice type (eg Weddings or In Memoriam), either by clicking on the notice type icon on the home page or, by selecting the notice type in the Notice type dropdown menu
• limit the search to (eg) notices from the previous week, by selecting from the Date range dropdown menu

If too few notices appear, try:

• make sure that the Date range and Notice type drop downs are set to All Announcements or left blank
• if there is a chance that the notice has appeared in a different newspaper, try choosing a different newspaper or region by clicking Choose other publication at the top of the page

Why can't I find the notice I am looking for?

It may be that the names have been spelled differently - see Search Tips above for more information about searching for notices.

Most notices are published on-line on the same time that the paper appears.

If yours is a weekly paper then they will appear on or close to the day of publication.

Some customers opt-out of publishing their notice on-line, in which case we will not display these notices.

This service started in 2002, so we only store notices going back to that time.

My notice is incorrect. I would like to change it.
