Michael spent the much of the last 11 years teachingEnglish at The King Fahd University at Dharhan, Saudi Arabia 'Mr Mike' was much loved by his Students and received many teaching accolades. He very much enjoyed his time in Saudi and often wrote about his experiences in the local newspaper in pieces headed 'Letter from the Kingdom', nonetheless he was always happy after the term was ended to return to the lush greenery of Bishopswood and the surrounding countryside. We will always remember his quick sense of humour, his easy charm, his optimism and loveof life. He was a folksinger, a humanist and a free spirit, a romantic and a perfect gentleman, an adventurer, a formidable tennis player, a maker of Yorkshire puddings an traditional English breakfasts and a connoisseur of Guinness, Michael saw the bestin everyone, was curious, engaging and challenging and could talk on a broad range of subjects, some of which he knew quite well. He was a loving Father, devoted Husband, big Brother and a loyal Friend. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

although we only met up every couple of years it was always a joy to talk with you. Always the same, always about Kath and the kids first, then work, then the joy of life. It saddens me that you are gone, and I didn't get the chance to talk with you, but I smile when I think about you and your family. May your god be with you. RIP mate. Val
